I heart the media

While in the Windy City, I spent some time in media relations. With clients ranging from large pharmaceuticals to individuals doctors, fast food giants to gaming innovators, I dug deep into a variety of subjects and industries. My team’s focus? Getting the latest client news, trends and products in front of relevant (and hopefully interested) reporters and producers. Here are a few samples:

I also worked in the media as a state government correspondent for Capital News Service in Lansing, Michigan. I researched, wrote and edited stories for more than 25 subscriber newspapers in Michigan and Indiana. Below are a few of my clips:

Digging deep in the world of research

Fascinated by the First Amendment, I worked with my advisor and professor, Eric Freedman, on a research study about press freedom in the age of Terrorism, 25 years after the infamous prior restraint lawsuit: U.S. v. The Progressive. We spent several months researching and writing this paper, which was accepted for publication and showcased at a respected journalism organization’s annual conference (AEJMC).
